Board of Ed Public Meeting

From our boardt:

The Genoa-Kingston Board of Education is hosting a community meeting to seek input in the organization and usage of the current school buildings.  The board will address potential for closing schools, redesigning attendance centers and issuing construction bonds. As you know school funding in Illinois is a huge challenge not only to our district but throughout the state. We recognize the need to continue fiscal responsibility while focusing on student achievement and innovation. Please come to the Genoa-Kingston High School auditorium on May 17th at 7:00 p.m. to assist our district in making Genoa-Kingston thrive for years into the future.
Thank you,
Genoa-Kingston Board of Education

Hope to see members from our community there!

PARCC Testing

PARCC testing will be taking place at GKMS Monday, April 11, through Tuesday, April 19.

You can play a role in your student’s success by helping to ensure he/she gets a good night sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and is encouraged to do their best.  It is very important your child be at school on time and not absent unless they are ill.

We look forward to all GKMS students doing their best and showing what they know!

Helping Parents Deal with Bullying

"Join us Wednesday, January 27th in the GK High School Media Center from 6:30 -7:00 PM for a parent’s only presentation of Bullying is never Right, grades K-12.  Several resources from the DeKalb County area will be available for those in attendance. The goal is to keep the presentation to 30 minutes for those who need to get back to their families; however, we will certainly stay after for questions, ideas and sharing."  I am looking forward to being a part of this presentation!
